Four people, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed and another seriously injured in a collision with a lorry on the national highway near Payalkulanga in the coastal district on Wednesday.
Police said the vehicle came from the opposite direction. The car was completely harmed in the collision.
Four people died on the spot and one with serious injuries was taken to a nearby hospital, they added.
