Want “Permanent Peace” With India, War Not An Option: Pakistan PM

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan wants to make “permanent peace” with India through talks as hostilities are not an option for either country to resolve the Kashmir issue, according to a media report on Saturday.
Speaking to a legation of college students from Harvard University, Mr. Sharif said sustainable peace in the place was once linked to the resolution of the Kashmir issue as per United Nations resolutions, The News International newspaper reported.

Relations between India and Pakistan have been regularly strained by the Kashmir issue and cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan.

He said,”Pakistan is determined to maintain peace in the region and that sustainable peace in the vicinity was linked to the resolution of the Kashmir issue as per the UN resolution,”.

India has repeatedly instructed Pakistan that Jammu and Kashmir shall always stay an indispensable phase of the country.

India has said it wishes normal neighbourly family members with Pakistan in an environment free of terror, hostility and violence.
