Use of DJ banned during Durga Puja in Siliguri, dengue prevention measures highlighted

Siliguri, September 12: The Siliguri Metropolitan Police on Thursday held an important meeting with various Puja committees at Deenbandhu Manch (Fact Centre) in Siliguri to discuss a number of measures to be implemented during the festival days. These measures include a strict ban on the use of DJs during Durga Puja days and immersion ceremonies.
Moreover, health officer Debabrata Dutta stressed the importance of following dengue prevention guidelines. He directed the Puja committees to increase awareness and vigilance against dengue. Puja committees have also been directed to put up banners in mandaps (pandals) and give information about dengue prevention to the visitors and make announcements through microphones.
Additionally, the measures also include preventing water stagnation in the pandals. After the festival is over, the pandals should be removed and cleaned as soon as possible to prevent mosquito breeding.
