Siliguri, 09 May (Retd.). In response to a long-standing demand of residents, the work of installing street lights on Eastern Bypass in Siliguri has started. This initiative has been taken by the Public Works Department (PWD).
According to reports, lack of adequate lighting on the Eastern Bypass has been a long-standing problem, leading to an increase in criminal activities under the cover of darkness. Residents have repeatedly protested and petitioned authorities to install streetlights to reduce these risks.
As a result, PWD started the work of installing 64 streetlights on the Eastern Bypass.
