The flag off cum launching ceremony of Unnata Axom Agri & Livestock Development Producer Co. Ltd. was held at a city hotel in Guwahati today. The program was attended byShyam Jagannathan (IAS) , Commissioner & Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Government of Assam as Chief Guest besides other distinguished personalities. The fleet of vehicles dedicated to the services of the company was flagged off by the chief guest followed by a brief launching ceremony.Shyam Jagannathan in his inaugural speech had appreciated the mission of the company, it’s efforts towards self-reliance of the rural youth and all round rural development of the state.Dr. N. Thakuria, Senior Veterinary Officer, Assam Livestock & Poultry Development Corporation was also present and spoke on the occasion.

Limited, Guwahati, Assam is a visionary brain child of a young and dedicated entrepreneur from Assam having vast and varied experience in the field of Agriculture, Education, and Management besides socio economic development”. In his speech, Rupankar Gogoi , Chairman , Unnata Axom Agri & Livestock Development Producer Co. Ltd. Said “ It is or priviledge to launch this contract firming project for the first time in the city for the people of Assam to make people aware and conscious on Agri farming and live stock and make them atmonirbhor. For branding and make people aware on farming we will move various part of the state by the vehicle we had flag off today. The primary objective of the company is to venture into this basic sector, create a development model of collaboration, cooperation, support and training with the farmers in the rural areas of the state of Assam and later on other parts of North Eastern Region in the process of bringing about a sustainable self-employment opportunities among the educated and unemployed youth of the region through scientific Agriculture , hatchery poultry and other livestock farming. These will involve acquisition and utilization of resources concerning all stakeholders which will usher a concerted and orchestrated efforts towards bringing revolution in the pursuit of scientific management and marketing of agriculture, livestock and other contract farming in this part of the country and improve lives and livelihoods of the people in far flung areas besides augmenting the government commitment towards agricultural and rural development”.
The company has drawn an ambitious plan to bring around 5000 rural youth into its manifold from across the state and improve upon their lives through self-reliance state of art of agri and livestock farming at their own vicinities.
From providing infra support to the farmers in setting up of Poultry and othe livestock facilities to imparting training to the framers on scientific management of the farms and from supply of hatched chicks to marketing of poultry and other live stock products and regular veterinary support to the farmers are the core activities, the organization is planning to undertake in order to integrate the supply chain both upward and downward and ensure standard quality and process control.
