The West Bengal government has extended the ‘Duare Sarkar’ program till December 5

The West Bengal government on Wednesday announced the extension of ‘Duare Sarkar’, its social outreach camp on various schemes till December 5.

As per the earlier notification issued in September, the Duare Sarkar Camp was held from November 1 to November 30.

Chief Secretary HK Dwivedi said in a release on Wednesday “The state government is pleased to announce that the schedule of the outreach camp has now been extended and will continue till December 5, 2022.” The state had notified on September 26 that Duare Sarkar and camps would be held at the “residential level” (in local areas) from November 1 to 30.

The fifth edition of ‘Duare Sarkar’ in the current financial year aims to reach people with the benefits of nine welfare schemes like ‘Khadya Sathi’ (food and supplies), ‘Shashya Saathi’ (health), SC-K caste certificate. STs and OBCs, ‘Kanyashree’ and ‘Rupashree’ were in the camp at that time.

‘Kanyashree Prakalpa’ is an initiative taken by the state government to improve the life and status of girls by providing cash assistance to economically backward families so that families do not marry their daughters before the age of 18 due to economic reasons.

‘Rupshree Project’ provides grants to poor families to help them afford their daughters’ wedding expenses.

The first edition of Duare Sarkar Camp started on December 1, 2020.

The earlier notification informed that the fourth Duare Sarkar camp attracted more than 59 lakh people and provided more than 65 lakh services related to the welfare schemes of the state.

The details of the government camp in the ongoing Duara are not yet available.
