The decision erupted agitation amongst the general public

Recently, on the 31st of Dec, Assam cupboard proclaimed the choice to merge four districts within the state. The cupboard was chaired by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma in New Delhi. Opposition Congress party together with alternative political parties together with many organisations has raised voice against the choice.

Samujjal Kumar, the chief authority of AASU, demanded to withdraw the cupboard call. He explicit that, in no approach the merging is appropriate.
