The Meteorological Department has said that the amount of rain will increase in South Bengal on Thursday. The weather will change from Friday. Temperatures will increase during the weekend and rain will reduce discomfort due to humidity. The depression formed in the Bay of Bengal has moved far from the state to the Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coasts. The low pressure axis has also shifted from Gangetic West Bengal over Odisha and Chhattisgarh. As a result, there will be indirect effect of thunder and lightning rains in Bengal. The western part of the monsoon axis lies in the foothills of the Himalayas. The eastern part extends to the south.
