Smriti Irani, daughter not owners of Goa restaurant, never applied for license: Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court on Monday stated that Union Minister Smriti Irani and her daughter Zoish are not the owners of the Goa restaurant. No license was once ever issued in their favour, the courtroom said.

The order of the court was once stated after Smriti Irani filed a civil defamation suit against Congress leaders who alleged that the minister’s daughter was once walking an unlawful bar in Goa.

Following this, Delhi High Court had issued summons to Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera and Netta D’Souza on a civil defamation suit filed by politician Smriti Irani. The BJP leader sought damages of over Rs two crore for ‘baseless’ allegations against her and her daughter after Congress alleged that Zoish was acquiring an unlawful bar in Goa. The court requested Congress leaders to take down tweets and other social media posts on allegations levelled in opposition to the union minister and her daughter.
