Rhea Chakraborty Gets Bail In Drug Case Whereas, Brother Showik’s Plea Rejected

On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court granted bail to actor Rhea Chakraborty in an alleged drug case related to the actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The bail was granted on a bond of Rs. 1 lakh, and the plea of Rhea’s brother Showik and alleged drug peddler Abdel Basti Parihar was rejected by the high court. 

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday granted bail to actor Rhea Chakraborty in an alleged drug case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. While Rhea was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh, the high court rejected the plea of her brother Showik and alleged drug peddler Abdel Basit Parihar.

Showik plea was rejected on the ground as the court noted that the applicant not only knew may drug dealers but was also in touch with them and was actually transacting with them. “At this stage, the investigating agency has sufficient material to show that he (Showik) is a part of a chain of drug dealers engaged in illicit traffic of drugs,” the order stated.

Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde said they are  “hounding and witch hunt” against the actor must stop. “Truth and Justice have prevailed and ultimately the submissions on facts and law have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal. The arrest and custody of Rhea were totally unwarranted and beyond the reach of the law”, added the lawyer.
