Pink to Thappad, how Birthday Girl Taapsee Pannu paved her way in Bollywood

Actress Taapsee Pannu turned a year older on Monday, August 1. The birthday girl was recently seen enjoying the main role in Mithali Raj’s biopic, Shabaash Mithu. Though now a common face, Taapsee made it on her own in showbiz without any filmy connections. She started her career as a model and soon after, she entered films. After making her debut in 2010 with the Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam, she bought her first smash in Bollywood with David Dhawan’s Chasme Baddur (2013).

Despite being born and raised in Delhi, Taapsee Pannu did videos in the South and got recognition there. She has appeared in many Tamil and Telugu movies opposite popular stars like Mammootty and Pawan Kalyan. Although Chashme Baddur was a hit once, Taapsee Pannu did not get much recognition for the film. Taapsee’s next film was the Akshay Kumar-starrer Baby (2015), which was again a box-office success. However, it was Once Pink that proved to be Taapsee’s step-forward performance in Bollywood. The actress was praised. It was commercially successful and also won critical acclaim.

Taapsee Pannu will be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rajkumar Hirani’s Danki. Not just the actress, even her fans are excited to see her sharing the display area with SRK.
