Nepal earthquake: More than 150 killed in remote western Nepal

A 6.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Nepal on the night November 3(Friday), strong tremors were felt in the states of neighbouring country India. The Indian cities that witnessed the tremors of earthquake were Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Bihar. As per the reports of National Centre for Seismology the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km.

The impact of the earthquake in Nepal has been severe, more than hundred of houses have collapsed and according to government counting 375 people had been injured and still the number is increasing. Jajarkot hospital is all packed with wounded people to get their treatment done.

One survivor, Geethakumari Bista from Nepal, told the BBC that rescuers saved her elder daughter, but she lost her younger daughter.

“We three were in the same room on the top floor. Everything happened so suddenly. We couldn’t understand what was happening,” she recalled.
