Lot of pressure on Janhvi Kapoor for being Sridevi’s child, says Deepak Dobriyal

Actor Deepak Dobriyal talks about his Good Luck Jerry co-star Janhvi Kapoor and how there is a lot of pressure on her to be late actor Sridevi’s daughter. In a new interview, Deepak Dobriyal praises Janhvi’s upbringing and her ‘innocence, passion for work, curiosity to learn’. Deepak said he felt a ‘personal connection with Janhvi’ as he received his first mainstream award from Sridevi for Omkara.

Omkara (2006) is a crime drama movie. This movie was directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. It’s is based on William Shakespeare’s Othello. Apart from Deepak, the film also featured Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma, Vivek Oberoi and Bipasha Bose. For his portrayal of Raju Tiwari, Deepak won the Filmfare Award for Special Performance.

While talking to News18, Deepak reacted to Sridevi presenting her award for Omkara, “That’s why I felt like I have a non-public connection with Janhvi. Even when I wasn’t shooting, I used to be on set to encourage her. Her upbringing stimulated me to bring my kids up too in a certain way. Her innocence, ardour for work, curiosity to learn, and risk-taking mindset are amazing. She was once surrounded by using theatre actors on the units of Good Luck Jerry and she was once trying her quality to soak up new matters about the craft from them. She was on a regular hunt for know-how and that’s something I admire about her.”

He additionally said, “Janhvi is Sridevi Ji’s daughter and there’s a lot of stress on her. She’s very younger but they don’t spare her. It’s challenging for the target audience to choose her talent fully based totally on her performance because they want to continuously compare her to her mother.” ​Janhvi is the daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and his late wife, actor Sridevi.

Good Luck Jerry is a remake film of a Tamil film Kolamavu Kokila where Nayanthara and Yogi Babu starring. In Good Luck Jerry, Janhvi plays Jaya Kumari aka Jerry, an immigrant from Bihar who becomes a medicine supplier in Punjab to pay for her mother’s cancer diagnosis.

The film is written by Pankaj Matta and directed by Siddharth Sengupta. Good Luck Jerry in association with Sundial Entertainment through Anand L Rai’s Color Yellow Productions and Lyca Productions. It additionally features Mita Vashisht, Neeraj Sood, Sushant Singh and Saurabh Sachdeva. The film was released on Disney Hotstar on Friday.
