Kerala govt. makes masks compulsory in public places

The Kerala govt has passed a law making masks mandatory in all public places, workplaces and gatherings. In the order it is also mentioned to follow social distancing to prevent the spread of Covid infection.
The guidelines were passed as the state is more prone to the risk of a COVID-19 resurgence.

Besides, the government has also advised shops, theatres and organisers of different events to provide sanitisers to people.

On Monday, India reported 114 new Covid-19 infections, while the active cases reduced to 2,119, according to the Union Health Ministry data. The national Covid recovery rate increased to 98.80 per cent.

The cases of XBB.1.5 variant have been seen across 11 states and Union territories till now, including Maharashtra, West Bengal and Delhi.
