Kareena Kapoor Khan says Singham Again is a ‘male testosterone film’

Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan began 2024 with a successful start with Crew, which hit theatres in March and was appreciated by everyone. Recently in an interview with Variety from UN House, the actress revealed a potential sequel to the movie and her role in the upcoming movie Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty.

She said that both her and Deepika Padukone’s characters play prominent roles in this big Bollywood masala entertainer movie. Singham Again stands out as one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year, boasting a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepika Padukone.

Calling it a “completely male testosterone movie”, Kareena said, “There’s Deepika (Padukone) and me in the film, where we have very strong parts. But obviously it’ll be really different, it is the big ticket Bollywood bonanza for this year, and I’m sure people will enjoy that.”

In a conversation with BBC Asian Network earlier, Kareena had revealed about whether she’d share screen space with others. Responding to the question, she said, “I’m sure that’s part of the surprise of the film that you guys have to watch! But yes, it’s a stellar cast. And I think there’s no one better than Rohit Shetty to bring us all together in one frame. Yes, and it’s definitely going to happen.”

Talking about the film, the actress added, “The movie has emotion, action, and on top of that, I have a lovely role that’s a pivotal part of the film. Even if you look at big-ticket Hollywood films like Avengers, there’s always an emotional connection. Singham Again has emotion that comes from my character. So, after doing Crew and especially the audience, seeing me in this movie will be a total 360-degree turn as an actor.”

In Hansal Mehta’s new movie The Buckingham Murders, the actress plays the main character, a mother and investigator. The story is mainly centered around her as she investigates the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire after the tragic loss of her own child. The movie premiered at MAMI 2023, but its release date hasn’t been revealed yet.
