Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party, attacked the Samajwadi Party harshly on Sunday ahead of the urban local body elections in Uttar Pradesh. She also urged her party’s supporters to be wary of claims that the Samajwadi Party’s support among Dalits was waning.
They have been duped so many times that they now understand it is “not tough but impossible” for the SP to defeat the BJP, she alleged. She argued that the BSP was essential to defeating the BJP.
Mayawati charged other political parties with spreading misinformation to undermine the BSP at a special gathering of party office holders and district unit heads.
