IndiaSkills: 50 candidates won gold and 48 received silver medals

In the IndiaSkills 2021 Regional Competition for the Eastern Zone, winners from Mizoram received 3 gold and 6 silver medals. Overall, 98 candidates from 8 states and union territory were declared winners in the competition. Governor of Bihar, Shri Phagu Chauhan felicitated the winners at Bapu Sabhaghar, Patna. He awarded each of them a cash prize of Rs 21,000 along with a gold medal. The first runners up were given Rs 11,000 and a silver medal.

Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Odisha, Tripura, and West Bengal were the participating states and UT in the Eastern competition. From Mizoram, Lalramtluangi, Lalnunfeli and Samuel Lallawmzuala won gold medals in Bakery, Fashion Technology and Painting & Decorating respectively, whereas Deborah Lalnunsiami, C Lalfakzuali, Jenny Lalbiakpari, Lalrintluanga, Daniel Lalrinchhana, and Lalruatpuia won silver medals in bakery, Fashion Technology, Hairdressing, Hotel Reception, Painting & Decorating and Welding respectively.

The winners of Regional competition will compete at the Nationals in December 2021, and the best will enter WorldSkills Competition to be held in October 2022 in Shanghai, China.
