Four accused in abduction, killing of Jharkhand Principal

Four people wanted in a sensational kidnapping-cum-murder case of a Jharkhand college principal and hiding in the national capital were arrested in a joint operation by the Delhi Police with its Jharkhand counterparts.

Among those arrested are the brother and nephew of the deceased.

On June 9, the complainant, Fatmakhatoom, 48, said that on June 8, around 10 am, her husband Mulla Najiruddin, principal of a college in Jharkhand’s Godda, went to Bhagalpur in Bihar on some urgent work. According to Fatmakhatoom, Naziruddin’s driver Aman Raj was also with him in a Mahindra SUV.

“Around 6:30 p.m., when he was returning, he was abducted from the Gerua River flyover…,” alleged the complainant.

During the investigation, Najiruddin’s dead body was recovered near a road in Godda.

A total of 17 people were named in the FIR. Delhi Police said that Basantrai police have already arrested four accused persons in the case. However, the main accused named Rustam Ali (34), nephew of the deceased Sakib (32) and Suban (25), deceases’ nephews are still absconding.
The Basantrai police received a tip-off that the three were hiding somewhere in South-East Delhi and informed the Delhi Police. Three others, including the fourth accused, Amrit Thakur (25), were subsequently arrested.
