Fast food seller death case in Naxalbari

Recently tension gripped Naxalbari after the tragic demise of 24-year-old fast food seller, Joy Barman after being brutally attacked while returning home from a wedding ceremony. Actually the news sparked outrage and grief among the locals as they demonstrated in front of the Naxalbari police station. As per reports, Joy Barman was brutally attacked by a group of assailants who struck him on the head with an iron rod at the Tukriya More in Naxalbari. Following this, the injured youth was admitted to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) where he tragically succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the residents of Naxalbari-Panitanki expressed their anguish over the crime and demanded swift and severe punishment for the perpetrators responsible for Barman’s untimely death. Additionally, they staged a demonstration by blocking the state highway.

Actually the situation escalated until CI Saikat Bhadra of Naxalbari intervened, addressed the protestors, and lifted the road blockade. For the present the authorities had already initiated investigations into the attack, resulting in the arrest of five individuals allegedly connected to the crime. The arrested suspects were subsequently presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Thursday as part of ongoing legal proceedings.
