4 Naxals shot dead in encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur

Security forces have gun-fired four Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur in a morning operation today. Atleast 50 Naxals had collaborated to target an attack on development works in the place when the forces shoot them, Bastar’s Inspector General of Police, P Sundarraj, said to the media.

Teams of the Central Reserve Police Force , Special Task Force and the District Reserve Guards launched an operation based on details received about the gathering of Naxals in the area, Sundarraj said.

The encounter started around 7.30 am in a forest near the Pomra village under the Mirtur police station limits when joint teams of the forces were out on an anti-Maoist operation, Sundarraj said.

Among the four naxal two of them were women. The dead bodies of all four have been rescued along with a huge cache of weapons, the IG said.

The identification of the Naxals is yet to be known, he mentioned.
