19 dead in Maharashtra during immersion of Lord Ganesha idols

At least 19 people lost their life, 14 of them due to drowning, in the extraordinary incidents that took place during the immersion of Ganesh idols in different parts of Maharashtra, police said on September 10.

He said two men and a woman drowned in the pond while burying idols in the Yavatmal district.

In Ahmednagar district, two people died in separate incidents of drowning in Supa and Belvandi, he said, while two others died in north Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district.
