Kharibari, 24th August: SSB jawans arrested a youth during an anti-drug operation in Dilsaram Jot near India-Nepal border in Panitanki, Kharibari. The accused, identified as Manoj Singha, resident of Gandogol Jote, Khoribari, was caught while riding the bike.
According to police sources, soldiers of the 41st battalion of SSB conducted the operation and caught the suspect. During the search, 116 grams of brown sugar was recovered from the accused.
Later the SSB handed over the suspect to Kharibari police. Initial investigation revealed that the accused was in the area to sell drugs. The accused was presented in Siliguri court on Saturday.
