Siliguri, June 21: A youth was arrested on Friday for attacking a lawyer in Siliguri court premises. The accused has been identified as MD Ali, a resident of Ward No. 06 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
According to reports, the youth and advocate Abhijit Kundu had an altercation over some unknown issue which turned into a scuffle. Following the incident, the lawyer lodged a written complaint at the Siliguri police station.
The police immediately reached the spot and took the accused into custody. MD Ali was arrested on charges of assault and produced in Siliguri court on Saturday.
The police have started investigating the incident.
