Woman robs house in Siliguri’s Ward 33; entire robbery captured on CCTV

Siliguri, May 20: A broad daylight robbery by a woman in Shiv Shakti Kalibari area of ​​Sukanto Pally under Ward No. 33 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has created a stir.
According to reports, the incident took place on Sunday afternoon, when a woman along with her two children fled from a house with gold jewellery and cash worth around ₹10 lakh. At that time, the owner of the house was busy praying, which made the accused go unnoticed.
According to local sources, the woman entered the house with a child in her lap followed by another child of around 8-10 years. After entering the house, she went straight to the cupboard. She then opened the cupboard and fled with valuables including gold, cash and other items.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV installed in the house. The footage shows the woman entering the house and stealing with great confidence in broad daylight.
The family members discovered the theft only after returning to the room and immediately lodged a written complaint at the NJP police station. The police have begun investigating the case and are examining CCTV footage to identify and trace the accused.
