Actor Ranbir Kapoor made his film debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya in 2006. Earlier, he assisted the filmmaker in his 2004 film Black. In a historical interview, she said that working with the director was like torture. The actor revealed that Sanjay used to beat him up.
Apart from Sanjay Sawaria, Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam Kapoor made her debut. The film was once entirely based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s 1848 novel White Nights. It had cameos by Rani Mukerji and Salman Khan.
On Neha Dhupia’s podcast No Filter Neha in 2016, Ranveer said, “He (Bhansali) used to be a challenging task-master and I used to be kneeling down on set, he was once beating me…after a factor, it received so heavy and I felt so tortured that I had to cease the film at a point…I suppose it used to be like 10 or 11 months into my job and I am like ‘ listen I can’t do this, its getting to me I suppose I am too sensitive and emotional and he received to know me so nicely and he typed of stored poking into that… he acquired too much, went loopy as a way as I was once concerned.”
“Having stated that I think all the performances that I do in cinema all come from that experience, from him …he was once a real trainer in that sense…he taught me the whole thing in terms of appearing and emotions and stuff like that…,” added Ranbir.
Ranveer will be considered next in Shamshera. The film will also feature megastars Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. Produced by Aditya Chopra, Shamshera is set to release on July 22 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Recently, Ranveer and actor Shraddha Kapoor were snapped in Spain for a Love Ranjan movie Ranveer also has Brahmastra in the pipeline. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy. It will hit theaters on September 9, 2022.
