‘We were crying…’: Man who pressed button that brought down Supertech twin towers

The Supertech twin towers demolition will go down in India’s records as one of the most large activities as it used to be the largest managed explosion to carry down the unlawful buildings in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida. Edifice Engineering reliable Chetan Dutta, the man who pressed the button to demolish the giant towers using over 3,700kg of explosives, told journalists that the demolition was once “100% successful.”

Dutt added that after the demolition, he went to the website along with four other officers in charge of the blast and started crying out of sheer relief and joy.

“The demolition was 100% successful. It took 9-10 seconds to demolish the entire building. My team consisted of 10 people, 7 foreign professionals and 20-25 people from Edifice Engineering,” Dutt was quoted as saying by Business Enterprise ANI.

“Just after pressing the button I looked up to see the twin towers coming down. When it all fell to the ground, my team and I didn’t wait any longer for the cloud of dirt and smoke to settle. We rushed to the ruins to have a look from Emerald Court and ATS Village housing societies,” he added.
