IndiGo to charge extra fees for passengers desiring for wide legroom in the front row of its aircraft just days after reducing fuel charges.
As per the fees mentioned for various services on the airline’s website, choosing a window or aisle seat in the front row of an A321 aircraft which has 232 seats will charge Rs 2,000, while the amount is Rs 1,500 if it is the middle seat.
The amount is same for these seats in an A321 plane that has 222 seats and in an A320 aircraft consisting of 186 seats. And the same charge is applied on an A320 aircraft with 180 seats, according to the airline’s website.
In the case of ATR planes, the fee for choosing seat is up to Rs 500.
Aviation analyst Ameya Joshi told the airline has increased the seat selection charges from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 for the front row seats with extra legroom.
