Telecom giant Vi has partnered with Sun NXT to offer a broader range of South Indian movies, exclusive series, TV shows, and LIVE content in seven languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, and Hindi. This addition is part of Vi’s Movies & TV Plus and Lite packs, priced at Rs 248 and Rs 154 per month, respectively, and allows users access without additional charges.
Sun NXT’s inclusion enhances Vi’s competitive edge in the OTT market, joining other major platforms like Disney+ Hotstar, SonyLIV, ZEE5, and ManoramaMax, all accessible within Vi’s subscription bundles. This initiative not only simplifies user experience by consolidating subscriptions but also offers significant savings on individual OTT platform costs. Vi’s integration of regional OTT services aligns with FICCI-EY’s recent findings, which highlighted a 52% demand for regional content over Hindi, underscoring the growing importance of multilingual programming in India.
In Siliguri, Vi’s expanded offerings are expected to resonate well, catering to a diverse regional audience with easy access to popular Sun NXT titles such as Annaatthe, Beast, and Thiruchitrambalam, along with popular TV shows like Kayal and Nandini ka Pratishod.
