Uttar Purvi Mahotsav 2024: A gateway to economic growth and regional collaboration

To harness the economic potential of Northeast India, the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, through NEHHDC, presents the inaugural Uttar Purvi Mahotsav from January 13th to 17th, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. Beyond a cultural spectacle, this event positions itself as a catalyst for economic opportunities and regional collaboration.

Featuring 250 participants, the Mahotsav is a marketplace for handcrafted products, textiles, and agro-horti produce, offering a glimpse into the economic vibrancy of the Northeast. Panel discussions, such as “Towards Prosperity: Catalysing North East’s Progress Towards a Viksit Bharat,” focus on unlocking the region’s untapped potential, positioning it as a key driver for India’s economic progress.

Buyer-seller meets aim to foster valuable interactions across handlooms, handicrafts, agro and allied products, and tourism, with the goal of onboarding 5,000 – 10,000 artisans annually. The ONDC partnership further integrates small businesses into the digital commerce landscape.
