UPSC Civil Services exams cannot be postponed due to COVID-19: UPSC tells Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court has directed UPSC to file their affidavit by tomorrow listing down the logistical reasons for not postponing the civil services examinations 2020. The apex court will now hear the plea on September 30, 2020.
The petitioners have sought postponement of the Civil Services Exam for two to three months, so that the flood/ incessant rains go away and COVID-19 curve flattens. The plea has been filed by 20 UPSC aspirants against conducting of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination on October 4.

Justice Khanwilkar has asked UPSC to file an affidavit in the court. The matter would now be taken up on September 30. Adv Anushree Kapadia has also been asked to file a copy of the IA to the UPSC Counsel and othr parties and asked UPSC to take care of the same in their reply.
