Siliguri, Jan 04: An unknown person trying to cross the railway track near Ram Bahadur Gate near Darjeeling Mor in Siliguri died after being hit by a train on Saturday.
According to the report, the person was earlier sitting near the railway track. When the train arrived from the junction, the person tried to cross the track without looking at the train and got hit by the train, leading to his death.
On receiving information about the incident, teams of Junction Town GRP and Pradhan Nagar police station reached the spot. The body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem.
The deceased has not been identified yet. Meanwhile, Junction Town GRP has started investigating the incident.
