Union Minister’s House Set On Fire In Manipur

This time the home of the central minister was affected by tribal violence in Manipur! A frenzied mob attacked the house of Union Minister of State for External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh in the Kongba area on Thursday night. His house was set on fire by throwing petrol bombs! According to administration sources, Minister Ranjan was not at home at that time. The attack on Meitei community leader Ranjan’s house is believed to be due to the death of several people in the firing by miscreants in the area.

Ignoring the curfew, more than a thousand people gathered in the area near the capital Imphal and attacked the Union Minister’s house. Incidentally, on Thursday, the house of Kangpokpi MLA Nemcha Kipgen, the only woman minister of the Manipur government, was burnt down by the angry crowd. Several leaders of the Meitei clan accused Kuki leader Nemcha of favoritism and abetting violence.
