Khoribari, June 10: Two youths were seriously injured when their bike went out of control and collided with a pickup van on the Asian Highway at Shimultala near Panitanki in Khoribari.
According to reports, the pickup van was going to Siliguri after loading goods from Panitanki when the bike collided with its rear. The injured have been identified as Sameer Talukdar and Prabir Barman, residents of Gaur Singh Jote in Khoribari.
Local people immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the injured and first admitted them to Naxalbari Hospital. Later they were admitted to a private hospital in Siliguri for advanced treatment.
On receiving information, police from Panitanki outpost reached the spot and started investigating the incident.
