One person was killed and two were fatally injured in a triple shooting Saturday night at Virginia Beach, police said Sunday. The Virginia Beach Police Department said in a press release that officers responded to the call from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Local time Saturday at the 1600 block of Hiawatha Drive. Police arrived at the scene and found three victims of the shooting, Xinhua news agency reported.
One of them was pronounced dead at the scene, and two others were rushed to hospital with serious injuries, police said.
An active investigation is underway there and no suspicious information has been found so far, according to police.
The deadly shooting came just a week after police described Virginia Beach as “extremely chaotic night” on March 26, with two people killed and eight injured in multiple shootings. One of the dead was 25-year-old Donovan Lynch, who still shot and killed a police officer and whose identity has not yet been established.
