Kurseong, Mar 31: The Darjeeling-NJP toy train service was halted for about 45 minutes near Kurseong town after a water supply pipe came on the track.
The incident occurred when the pipe got stuck under the engine, preventing the train from moving. The train, carrying tourists travelling between Darjeeling and NJP, had to stop, causing inconvenience to passengers. Some tourists travelling only till Kurseong had to get off due to the delay.
Speaking over the phone, the director of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) said an investigation would be conducted to ascertain the details of the incident before making any further comment.
