TKM signed an MOU with the Government of Karnataka to enhance its operations in the country through fresh investments

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Karnataka to invest around INR3,300 crores in a new plant to boost its operations in the country. The plant, set to be completed in 2026, is expected to increase production capacity by 1,00,000 units annually and generate around 2000 additional jobs. The investments are part of TKM’s commitment to “Make in India” producing “Mass Happiness for All,” and will contribute to the local manufacturing eco-system and introduce new technologies to create “mobility for all.”

This will be the company’s third plant in India, located in Bidadi near Bangalore, Karnataka. The investment is part of TKM’s long-term commitment to building upon its 25-year history and contributing to the Prime Minister’s vision of “Amrit Kaal” (Golden Era). The new investments will also boost the local ecosystem by spurring supplier growth, job creation, and support for local community development in Karnataka.

Commenting on this Mr. Masahiko Maeda, Chief Executive Officer of Asia Region, said “We are confident that with the new investments in India, we will further elevate TKM’s role in our global vision for a more promising future by creating sustainable mobility solutions that enrich people’s lives worldwide.”
