Three police officials suspended for negligence in investigating death of 13-year-old girl

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma on Friday ordered the dismissal of three senior police officials accused of negligence in the death of a 13-year-old girl in Darang district.

The chief minister said, “A newspaper report claimed that the police did not want to register [the First Information Report],” . “The police recorded it as a suicide and no further investigation was conducted.”
