Three air traffic controllers were suspended after an almost fatal midair collision between Air India and Nepal Airlines

When an Air India and a Nepal Airlines aircraft nearly collided in midair on Friday, the warning systems informed the pilots, and their prompt action averted the calamity, authorities said here on Sunday.
According to CAAN spokesperson Jagannath Niroula, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has suspended three members of the air traffic controller department for “carelessness” while on the job.
An Air India flight from New Delhi and a Nepal Airlines plane from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, both bound for Kathmandu, nearly collided on Friday morning. Both aeroplanes were Boeing A320s with a 150 passenger capacity.
