Siliguri, May 25: In an unusual turn of events, a gang of thieves broke into a hotel on Sevoke Road in Siliguri and had a hearty meal before making off with various items. The incident came to light on Saturday morning when the hotel owner arrived to open the establishment.
Reportedly, upon arrival, the owner discovered that the walls of the hotel had been hacked into. Many utensils and other items were missing. It appears that the thieves took their time in eating the food available at the hotel before committing the theft.
According to the hotel owner, all the employees had gone home after closing the hotel on Friday night. The theft was discovered when the hotel reopened on Saturday morning. The owner immediately informed Bhakti Nagar police station and police officials reached the spot to begin their investigation.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident and efforts are underway to identify and arrest the criminals responsible for the theft.
