Fulbari, November 18: Taking advantage of an empty house in Purba Dhantala of Fulbari II Gram Panchayat adjoining Siliguri, miscreants made away with gold ornaments and cash worth several thousand rupees.
It is being told that Pompi Saha, a resident of Fulbari, left home with her family on Friday to go to her father’s house near NJP. When they returned on Monday morning, they saw the house vandalized and discovered the theft.
Pompi Saha said that gold ornaments and several thousand rupees in cash have been stolen from the house. After the incident, he has lodged a written complaint at the NJP police station.
The police have started investigating the theft and are trying to trace the culprits.
