Siliguri’s Burdwan Road to be widened as it is done for advancing transportation across the city. The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has initiated the construction work of expanding Burdwan Road on both sides with an estimate budget of approximately 10 crore rupees. As per the report the construction will start from the new Burdwan Road to the Tinbatti More. On Wednesday Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb with Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar visited the road construction site and inspected the nearby locations. The road will be extended by 12 feet on both sides with paver blocks to pave the road. With this the market next to Jalpaimore will be eliminated. The Mayor will discuss about this matter with the businessmen of the stores in the market and will find a different arrangement for them. Apart from this the Mayor said that SF Road will also be enlarged at a cost of Rs 7 crore.
