The Delhi High Court on Friday, 7 August, allowed the University of Delhi to conduct its much-debated open book examinations (OBEs) for final-year students, which will now be held from 10 August.
Students can either download question papers from the DU portal or receive them on the E-mail ID mentioned by them in the examination form. This means that even if the portal is inaccessible, students will be able to access the question papers in the inbox of their registered E-mail address.
The court has asked DU to send auto-generated e-mails to students after they submit answer scripts. DU has to ensure that the centralized e-mail ID has enough capacity to hold responses from all the students. Additionally, DU has to publish e-mail IDs of all the nodal officers, participating colleges and concerned officers 8 August.
Students who face problems during OBEs may send an e-mail to DU’s Grievance Officer, who must address the issue within 48 hours of having received the said communication from the student.
Else, the matter will be referred to the Grievance Redressal Committee. A Former Judge of Delhi HC will chair the said Grievance Committee and DU will have to submit a report before ii after OBEs have been completed.
