The civil services preliminary examination, scheduled to be held on May 31, has been deferred due to the COVID-19-induced nationwide lockdown and the new date for the test will be decided later this month, the Union Public Service Commission has said.The civil services examination is held annually in three stages – prelims, main and interview-by the commission to select officers for the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Foreign Service and the Indian Police Service among others.
