TCS ends work from home, asks employees to stick to dress code

After restricting work from home for employees, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has now come up with dress code guidelines for employees. Dress code protocol must be strictly followed by associates representing the company on various client platforms, Mail said.

TCS Chief Human Resources Officer Milind Lakkad said in his email that employees must follow this dress code policy while working from the office.

“This is key to creating the right impression with global stakeholders. The dress code policy provides clear guidance on proper attire while performing official duties and responsibilities,” read the email accessed by various media.

TCS has asked its employees to follow these dress codes according to their engagements, duties etc Employees are required to wear business casual from Monday to Thursday and may come in smart casuals on Fridays Employees should wear a formal full-sleeve shirt, skirt or business suit/dress in neutral/solid color saree or kurta. Shoes can be from Monday to Thursday formal shoes, moccasins, flats, heels, pumps, and dress sandals.

Employees can wear half-sleeve shirts, collared t-shirts, golf/polo shirts, smart casual trousers, kurtis, blouses and skirts on Fridays. For shoes, sneakers, moccasins, and suede shoes will be allowed.

TCS states that its associates are required to wear business formal/business suits while meeting business clients, visiting clients, external forums etc.

“A large number of our associates have joined us in the last two years and have been working in a virtual or hybrid mode, and it is our responsibility to ensure they are well integrated – working from the office is key to internalise the TCS values and the TCS way,” the TCS email said.
