The repercussions of the pandemic-induced lockdown and the subsequent intensification of construction activities across the country let the Indian construction sector is on course to grow by 11.6% in CY2021. The growth has been fuelled by the resumption of construction activities across the country. The north-eastern region in India in particular has gained an increased emphasis from the government, with a renewed focus on infrastructural development in the region in tandem with the Act East policy. In November 2020, the government increased its allocation for road development in the region by 95%, pressing on the need to recommence pending infrastructural projects.
This has encouraged the construction industry in the region to quickly shift gears and decisively recover in the successive months. One such major construction player in the region is Bhartia Infra Projects Limited, which has been recently awarded the Gold Award in the National Highway Excellence Award for “Outstanding Work in Challenging Conditions”.
Based out of Guwahati, Bhartia Infra Projects specializes in civil construction, with expertise in earthwork, building and irrigation, construction of roads, national highways, bridges, and underground tunnels.
