Expressed dismay on the slow progress on the ongoing road construction from L0-22 to Shishimi village under PMGSY, the Shishimi Village Council (SVC) has appealed to the concerned contractor to speed up the work by following the specifications as per the Detailed Project Report. In a press statement, the council chairman Kahoi Sangtam and head GB, Shitoi Sangtam claimed that despite repeated reminder to the concerned contractor to improve the progress of work by adding extra machinery, no extra machinery has been deployed.
Instead, SVC alleged the contractor instead of using the machinery efficiently has engaged it in other individual construction purposes “for his personal gain”.
In this regard, the council has appealed to the concerned authority to look into the matter at the earliest so as to ensure timely execution of work. The council further alleged that as per the RTI reply received from the office of the Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B), the work order has been issued on March 9, 2019, and even after two years, the first fresh cutting has not been completed. Therefore, SVC appealed to the concerned department to not release the remaining bill without proper completion of the first fresh cutting.
