Naxalbari, Jan 30: SSB jawans have seized two tractors loaded with illegal sand from Mechi river in Naxalbari.
According to reports, jawans of the 41st battalion of SSB conducted an operation in Chhoto Maniram area on Thursday. On seeing the SSB jawans, the tractor drivers abandoned the vehicles and fled.
The SSB successfully seized two tractors loaded with sand and handed them over to the Naxalbari police station. The police have started searching for the drivers.
In a similar incident, 16 tractors loaded with sand were seized in Kharibari on Wednesday in a joint operation by the SSB, police and land revenue department.
