Naxalbari, Feb 10: A passenger bus, allegedly travelling at a high speed on the Asian Highway near Atal in Naxalbari, lost control and hit a scooty. One person died in the incident, while 12-15 passengers were injured.
The accident occurred when the bus was going from Siliguri to Naxalbari. Seven of the injured passengers are in critical condition. The injured were first rushed to the Naxalbari hospital, and those in critical condition were later referred to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).
On receiving information about the incident, Naxalbari police and a fire brigade reached the spot. Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad Sabhapati Arun Ghosh also visited the spot.
The police have started investigating the cause of the accident.
