Special thirty rupees metro fare for Lalbagh flower show in Bengaluru

The Lalbagh Botanical Garden’s Independence Day flower exhibit has been seeing swelling crowds and the police officials have been urging site visitors to use public transport to avoid the traffic congestion round the Lal Bagh area. To motivate the traffic on the usage of public transport further, BMRCL (Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited) has announced a paper ticket gadget which is going to cost a constant ₹30 to all metro stations from Lal Bagh Metro station.

The announcement released by the Namma Metro said, “In view of Horticulture Flower Show at Lalbagh, Namma Metro will be issuing return trip paper tickets for the comfort of travelling public from August 13 to August 15″.


Starting from 10 am on August 13, Metro fare to any metro station from Lalbagh metro station will cost ₹30 and a paper ticket will be issued for the same at Lalbagh station. Paper tickets will only be valid for the day of purchase. However, metro fares will be uniform at other metro stations and the announcement states that paper tickets are valid only for passengers traveling from Lalbagh station.

The public transport agency has also urged people planning to visit the flower show to take the metro offering shuttles and avoid the city’s traffic jams.


On August 5, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated the Independence Day Flower Show at Lalbagh Botanical Garden. The flower show comes after two years of disruption due to Covid and is themed after father-son duo Dr. Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar, each a Kannada film star.
