Sonia Gandhi hospitalised with Covid-19 complications, Congress says condition stable

Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Delhi’s Gangaram Hospital due to Covid complications. He is said to be stable and will be kept at the health center for observation.

He tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, June 1. He was asked to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on June 8 but sought a different date, after which he was asked to appear on June 23.


The ED has registered an FIR in a money laundering case related to the National Herald-AJL case.

The All India Women’s Congress tweeted, “Congratulations to Honorable Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi get well soon and fully. It is the prayer of millions of Congress workers.”

Indian National Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala also tweeted that he will be kept under observation in the hospital.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took to Twitter to wish Sonia Gandhi a speedy recovery and send prayers. “We all pray for his speedy recovery and return to public life. God bless you, Soniaji,” she wrote.
